In John 6, why was Jesus so insistent about eating his body?

He is God. God created the world and mankind, right? If he can do that, then surely, through divine power, He can tranform ordinary bread and wine into his Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity. Read the Catechism of the Catholic Church for more info.
