What fish or critter would help clean a sandbed of a freshwater tank?

Try Banjo Cats, get a group of about 5, the more Banjo Cats there are, the more efficient they will clean up the excess food, and the more fish there are in the school, the happier they will be to clean it up. I have a school of about 10, and they are superb at cleaning up the extra's :)
