Can someone please explain some of the things that have been happening in Jena?

here is the simple truth.. 6 boys attacked another boy.. they beat him to a pulp.. regardless of the reason, it was against the law.. perhaps if it were a boy on a boy.. it would be a charge of ult.. but the action of the 6 boys was just flat illegal and the beating was done with intent to cause bodily harm.. in the law there are lines that, if they get crossed, that require a certain level of punishment.. the boys crossed the line with the continual beating and the actions of the group meet the criteria of a felony charge..thus..the charge of attemted second degree murder... the age of the boys have nothing to do with it.. the simple fact is they crossed the line..and now must pay the penality.. what most of those protestors are arguing about is whether one of the boys should be tried as a juvenile or and adult.. the state says adult.. the protestors say juvenile... they are not claiming that the boy is innocent..just to young to be tried as an adult.. it is a mess..
